SAND and STONE...

TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING THROUGH THE DESERT.

DURING SOME POINT OF THE JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN

ARGUMENT AND ONE FRIEND SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE

IN THE FACE.

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT

SAYING ANYTHING, WROTE IN THE SAND:

"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE!"

THEY KEPT ON WALKING UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS

WHERE THEY DECIDED TO TAKE A DIP. THE FRIEND WHO HAD

BEEN SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE MIRE AND STARTED

DROWNING, BUT THE OTHER FRIEND SAVED HER.

AFTER SHE RECOVERED FROM THE NEAR DROWNING,

SHE WROTE ON A STONE:

"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE!"

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED AND THEN SAVED HER BEST

FRIEND ASKED HER, "AFTER I HURT YOU, YOU WROTE IN THE

SAND.

YET, NOW, YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?"

THE FRIEND REPLIED,

"WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US, WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN

IN THE SAND, WHERE WINDS OF FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT

AWAY. BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,

WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE, WHERE NO WIND CAN EVER

ERASE IT."

*LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE

YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

**THEY SAY IT TAKES A MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL PERSON,

AN HOUR TO APPRECIATE THEM,

A DAY TO LOVE THEM,

BUT, AN ENTIRE LIFE TO FORGET THEM!

***SO, TAKE "STOCK" OF YOUR FRIENDSHIPS, NEVER FORGET TO

REMIND SOMEONE THAT THEY ARE NECCESARY TO YOU! TODAY IS THE

DAY THEY MIGHT NEED TO HEAR IT!

****TAKE THE TIME TO LIVE, LOVE, AND LAUGH!

*****DO NOT VALUE THE THINGS YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE,

BUT VALUE WHO YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE !

A professor at CCNY for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas.  He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain.  Read on:This is interesting.
After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.
Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at wor k leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand , for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine, eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!
So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:

FIRST Emergency

The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND
Have you locked your keys in the car?

Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car
over a cell phone!"

THIRD Hidden Battery Power

Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your cell will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.

FOURTH How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 # A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

And Finally....

FIFTH Free Directory Service for Cells

Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial: (800) FREE 411, or (800) 373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.

This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving, so pass it on to your family and friends.

The Wooden Bowl
>
> I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week
> from now, a month from now, a year from now.
>
>    A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and
> four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was
> blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But
> the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating
> difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the
> glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
>
>    The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do
> something about father," said the son. "I've had enough of his spilled
> milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor."
>
>    So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There,
> Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
>    Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a
> wooden bowl!
>
>    When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometime he had a
> tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for
> him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.
>
>    The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper,
> the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked
> the child sweetly, "What are you making?"
>
>    Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for
> you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled
> and went back to work.
>
>    The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then
> tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both
> knew what must be done.
>
>    That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him
> back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal
> with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to
> care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth
> soiled.
>
>    On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad
> it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
>
>    I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she
> handles four things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled
> Christmas tree lights.
>
>    I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents,
> you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.
>
>    I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a
> "life."
>
>    I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
>
>    I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt
> on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back.
>
>    I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if
> you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and
> doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.
>
>    I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I
> usually make the right decision.
>
>    I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
>
>    I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.
> People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a
> friendly pat on the back.
>
>    I've learned that I still have a lot to learn!

Take my Son

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, "Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art." The young man held out this package. "I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this."

The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. "Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift."

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. "We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?"

 There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, "We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one."

But the auctioneer persisted. "Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?"

Another voice angrily.. "We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Goghs, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!"

But still the auctioneer continued. "The son! The son! Who'll take the son?"

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. "I'll give $10 for the painting." Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

"We have $10, who will bid $20?"

"Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters."

"$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?"

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel. "Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!"

A man sitting on the second row shouted, "Now let's get on with the collection!"

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. "I'm sorry, the auction is over."

 "What about the paintings?"

"I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings.

The man who took the son gets everything!"

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: "The son, the son, who'll take the son?"

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE

Please send this to ten people and back to the one who sent it to you.

Do whatever you like, but remember that maybe "one" of the people you might have taken the time to send this to, may be just the person who needs to hear this message. You have a choice to make."

 God Bless.

Let it go for 2007...

There are people who can walk away from you.
And hear me when I tell you this! When people can walk away from you -
let them walk.

I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you, staying attached to you. I mean hang up the phone.
When people can walk away from you let them walk.
Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.
The Bible said that, they came out from us that it might be made manifest that they were not for
us. For had they been of us, no doubt they would have continued with us. [1 John 2:19]
People leave you because they are not joined to you. And if they are not joined to you, you can't make them stay.
And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person it just means that their part in the story is over. And you've got to know when people's part in your story is over so that you don't keep trying to raise the dead.
You've got to know when it's dead.
You've got to know when it's over. Let me tell you something. I've got the gift of good-bye. It's the tenth spiritual gift, I believe in good-bye. It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful, and I know whatever God means for me to have He'll give it to me. And if it takes too much sweat I don't need it. Stop begging people to stay.
If you are holding on to something that doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life, then you need to......
If you are holding on to past hurts and pains .....
If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth.....
If someone has angered you ........
If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or talents ..
If you have a bad attitude.......
If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better......
If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new level in Him......
If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship.......
If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help themselves......
If you're feeling depressed and stressed .......
LET ITLet the past be the past. Forget the former things. GOD is doing a new thing for 2007!!!
LET IT Get Right or Get Left .. think about it, and then ...
"The Battle is the Lord's!"

"I AM Too blessed to be stressed!" The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the LORD can stand up to anything. God's Love and peace be with you forever,

The Poem
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God! held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"

SISTERS

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day,
drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As
they talked about life, about marriage, about the
responsibilities of life and the obligations of
adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her
glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance
upon her daughter.

"Don't forget your Sisters," she advised, swirling
the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. "They'll
be more important as you get older. No matter how
much you love your husband, no matter how much you
love the children you may have, you are still going
to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now
and then; do things with them.

"Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women...
your girlfriends, your daughters,
and all your other women relatives too.

"You'll need other women. Women always do."

'What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman
thought. 'Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I
just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married
woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely my
husband and the family we may start will be all I
need to make my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact
with her Sisters and made more women friends each
year. As the years tumbled by, one after another,
she gradually came to understand that her Mom really
knew what she was talking about. As time and nature
work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman,
Sisters are the mainstays of her life.

After more than 50 years of living in this world,
here is what I've learned:

THIS SAYS IT ALL:

Time passes.

Life happens.

Distance separates.

Children grow up.

Jobs come and go.

Love waxes and wanes.

Men don't do what they're supposed to do.

Hearts break.

Parents die.

Colleagues forget favors.

Careers end.

BUT.........

Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are between you.

A girlfriend is never farther away than needing her
can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you
have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life
will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,
praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on
your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the
valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk
beside you.

Or come in and carry you out.

Girl
